When an artist has their own space for creating new cool artworks, it’s a great joy and a special place of attraction for non-artists like us. Here’s a green and work-inspiring studio of Misha Nikatin.

Moscow, Electrozavod 60 m2, working in this space for more than a year now. Initially it was some kind of a manufactory here, the walls were green, no light was inside, with raw pipes instead of window sills. The furniture here is either found on the street or bought from craigslist. I wanted it all to feel industrial and productive, and comfy at the same time.

Usually I work in my studio, but if I need to take some photos of my work and put myself in some real factory-like space, I go to the Hideaway photo studio. There's cool natural lighting there and a unique atmosphere.

I don’t have lots of books, but I usually buy some artists that I love passionately. I often come back to these books and look over and over at the artworks. Currently here at the studio I have Rousseau, Bulatov, Hockney, Koshlyakov, Kuindzhi, Deyneka, Pollock, Freud and Hopper.

I spend a lot of time on the internet looking for the motives or themes I’d like to express. Sometimes I print the screenshots of my pins from Pinterest, that makes it easier to look at them in common, like some little fore-sketches.
