MALYSHKI 18:22
Malyshki 18:22 is a sister duo of Nika and Aksinya Sarycheva from Siberia.
In their practice the art group works on the border of the real and the fake. The two women research the themes of routine, vulnerability, femininity, inner childhood and sisterhood. They look at life through the lens of games they made up as children, put those imaginary games onto the ugly reality and find identify contemporary problems through the practise of beauty-vandalism.
The artists work with different media - graphics, painting, ready-made, textile, video, performance and urban intervention. Their works are built on contrasts: from pink and tender to anxious and terrifying.
Founders of the bedroom gallery Little one, co-founders of ars boiler room. Winners of Garage museum grant program for artists working with relevant art (2021-22). Two times winners of GES-2 grant program for contemporary artists.
