MIMOLETNOSTY

Center of Contemporary Art Terminal A and Gathering Gallery present Mimoletnosty, Misha Nikatin's personal exhibition curated by Alexey Maslyaev. This project is a result of the artist's residency in Garage Museum workshops.

The exhibition contains an energetically charged installation in which painting of different formats, sculpture and ceramic objects form a reckoning on the fast flow of life and the human desire to keep traces of the past. Is it possible to do so? The answer is the kintsugi technique (Japanese art of restoring of ceramic objects), which Misha uses on painting. Uneven vibrating golden lines tell a tale of fragile memories, continuing the dialog between tradition and modernity which abstract paintings have with the dictionary of color made in Japan in the beginning of the XX century.
